Role Objectives

Based in Fitzrovia, the Web Developer is a key member of the Engineering team. We are looking for someone with a strong passion and technical aptitude for web app development. This person is vital to the delivery of a sophisticated client portal that is vital to Yoyo’s unique selling proposition. Being part of a fast growing start up, we need someone who is capable of working independently and under tight deadlines. Job Specifications

  • Collaborate with the product, design, and marketing teams to understand the business goals of Yoyo Wallet and their customers
  • Build responsive, user-centric sites, delivering an exceptional user experience across supported browsers
  • Develop online dashboards and visualizations as well as creating and maintaining custom applications to move data between systems and databases
  • Complete day-to-day design or front-end tasks that keep the website thriving
  • Contribute in taking our CRM platform to the next level
  • Participate in the conception, design, prototyping, implementation and maintenance of our platform
  • Develop SDK and API capabilities to build new and enhance existing systems and interfaces
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of our software development processes

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Marketing, or related field
  • 5+ years working in start up and/or entrepreneurial corporate environment
  • 3+ years professional experience with web development
  • Extensive experience with HTML5/CSS3
  • Strong working knowledge of Javascript (Native), jQuery, and frameworks
  • Professional experience with AJAX and third-party APIs (e.g. Facebook, Flickr, Twitter)
  • Experience with Django (Python) and Wordpress (PHP) are useful
  • Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or similar web tools
  • Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Experience developing code for complex, database-driven websites
  • Understanding of data mining/warehousing principles and practices, especially as applied to a business intelligence environment, is highly desired
  • Experience with Git or similar distributed source control systems
  • Applied experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Exposure to XML/JSON formats and their usage in distributed systems
  • Experience testing software (Functional, Performance, and Unit Testing)
  • Strong attention to detail with demonstrated project management skills
  • Personable, enthusiastic, and articulate
  • Entrepreneurial outlook and spirit with ability to be flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Previous exposure to mobile payment or mobile application industry is an asset
  • Ability to manage competing timelines and priorities in a composed fashion
  • Proven experience working independently to meet project requirements with minimal supervision
